Until recently, we had an e-mail list that was meant to be used to advise folks of interesting activities. There were a few problems with the e-mail list:
- We almost never used it
- It got spammed a few times, which made us look bad
- It wasn't very interactive
We have always had a Yahoo group, which folks generally found by accident and we never bothered to advertise. We are discontinuing the e-mail list (one less thing for us to feel guilty about not taking care of) and instead posting the address for the Yahoo group.
When you first go to the group, you will be required to 'join' the group. This is to prevent packs of spammers from trolling through the group looking for e-mail addresses. Once you click the 'join' button we will usually get you signed on within one day, sometimes two if it's a weekend.
Please feel free to participate in the group as much or as little as you wish.
Be advised of the following: If you abuse the group for your own purposes you will be kicked out with no warning, period.
